Sometime you’re looking through the various juice recipes on line and nothing grabs your attention, then there’s this one. First of all it’s bright purple and second, it’s got mint in it! Feel free to be less excited than I was when I saw it.
One of my favourite healthy recipe websites is the Whole Living website and that’s where I came across this one, you can find the original recipe here. The benefits of this juice are: Antioxidant superstars, red beets contain betalains, compounds that fight inflammation and support your detox by neutralizing toxins and making them water soluble and easily flushed from the body. In one study, beet fibre increased the production of detoxifying enzymes in the liver.
- 1 small beet
- 5 carrots
- 1 apple
- 1/4 cup fresh mint sprigs
As usual the way you make it is to put everything through your juicer, simples!
The result is a BRIGHT PURPLE, sweet but minty juice that is excellent in the morning, especially as it’ll go well with your toothpaste. I liked it a lot and it’s one of the quicker recipes to prepare due to the ease of chopping the ingredients.
